Kentucky Alpha-Delta (Centre) Phi Selected as SCAC Special Teams Player of the Week
gay_jordan.jpgAfter going 5-for-5 on field goal attempts in a season opening win at Hanover, junior kicker/punter Jordan Gay (Danville, KY) was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Special Teams Player-of-the-Week, and was selected as kicker for the D3Football.com Team of the Week for games played the weekend of Sept. 3.

Gay, who received the honor twice in 2010 in addition to being named SCAC Newcomer of the Year, made field goals of 46, 23 and 25 yards in the first half of the 38-21 win, then connected from 34 and 29 yards in the second half.

In addition to the five field goals, which set a school record and were one shy of NCAA Division III and SCAC records, Gay also recorded an average of 43.8 yards on five punts, landing three of those inside the 20.

After a bye this weekend, the Colonels host their first home game when they take on Washington & Lee on Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
