The retreat kicked off on Thursday, September 8 with two successful receptions that were attended by undergraduates and alumni from the region.  Brothers gathered at the Duquesne Club in downtown Pittsburgh to share an evening filled with brotherhood. Represented at the undergraduate reception were Phis from Pennsylvania Delta (Allegheny), Pennsylvania Pi (Robert Morris), Pennsylvania Iota (Pittsburgh), Pennsylvania Gamma (Washington & Jefferson) and the Pennsylvania Lambda Colony (Indiana University of Pennsylvania).  The brothers in attendance heard from Robert A. Biggs, Executive Vice President, M. Scott Mietchen, President of the General Council and Matthew Hughes of the Phi Delta Theta Foundation about key initiatives occurring within Phi Delta Theta.

Later in the evening, alumni and guests from the area joined the members of the General Council and the GHQ staff.
