New York Epsilon (Syracuse) Colony Shares the Title of Greek Week Champions |
Syracuse, NY (April 16, 2012) — After a week of various competitions and events, the brothers of Phi Delta Theta were named co-champions of Syracuse University’s 2012 Greek Week. They share this honor with the Delta Gamma, Sigma Chi, Kappa Alpha Psi and Phi Beta Sigma.
The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs hosts Greek Week annually as a way to increase awareness about Greek life on campus. The sororities and fraternities are randomly paired up into teams and collaborate on various tasks and competitions throughout the week. The objective of Greek Week is for the sororities and fraternities to work together and to become more well-acquainted with one another’s mission.
This is the first year that New York Epsilon has participated in the activities of Greek Week since their colonization in December 2011. Many of the brothers look to this achievement as just one more way that Phi Delta Theta is gaining positive attention on the SU campus.
The brothers were awarded this honor at the annual Greek Award ceremony held to honor the achievements of the various fraternity and sorority chapters throughout the past year. New York Epsilon did not qualify for any award because a group has to have been on campus for at least one full calendar year in order to be considered.
