The interest group of Phi Delta Theta at University of Nebraska Kearney (UNK) took their first step toward re-establishing Phi Delta Theta at UNK by becoming an official colony on April 28, 2012.  The ceremony was held on campus in the Nebraskan Student Union. In attendance and serving as master of ceremonies was Psi Province President Joe Kohout, Chapter Advisory Board Chairman Marc Bailey, various Nebraska Beta alumni, several brothers from Nebraska Alpha, family, friends and Greek leaders across campus.

The Nebraska Beta Colony members entered the room singing Phi Delt’s ‘Eternal Praise’. After the song and a short prayer was given, Joe Kohout then gave a brief synopsis of Phi Delta Theta to the audience before administering the Phikeia oath.  The members of the colony were then called one by one to receive their colony pin, Phikeia manual and to sign their names. After each member completed the signing of their name, Brother Kohout welcomed Colony President Logan Klinkman to say a few words and receive the charter for the colony.  After Klinlman’s speech, the ceremony was concluded with songs by the Phi Delta Theta family.
