Phi Delta Theta Colonizes New Mexico Alpha at the University of New Mexico |
On May 5th, 2012 the New Mexico Alpha interest group of Phi Delta Theta was colonized at the University of New Mexico. At noon in the Student Union Building at the University of New Mexico campus, 29 men were inducted into the colony. In attendance at the ceremony were many alumni including CAB Chairman Frank Barella, Omega Province President John Jones, members of the New Mexico Beta Chapter at New Mexico State University, Greek Advisor Jonathan Gayer and Dean of Students Kimberly Kloeppel.
Province President John Jones presided over the ceremony and called in the interest group members who walked into the room singing Phi Delta Theta's "Eternal Praise." John Jones would eventually administer the oath to the members and call on each man to receive his colony badge from CAB Chairman Frank Barella. The ceremony was the beginning of the return to greatness for the New Mexico Alpha Chapter at UNM. At the closing part of the ceremony, Colony President Brandyn Jordan told those in attendance, "New Mexico Alpha is back and will never leave the University of New Mexico again!"
