Every brother of Illinois Alpha at Northwestern University is expected to play an active role in the chapter and have a commitment to the Fraternity.  However, many brothers have gone beyond just Phi Delta Theta and have become heavily involved in other organizations around campus.  Involvement and leadership in other Northwestern organizations is important as it creates a positive image of Phi Delta Theta around campus and develops leadership skills in each Illinois Alpha brother.  Twenty-five Illinois Alpha brothers hold over forty leadership positions around campus.  The leadership positions the brothers hold range from service to social covering every aspect of the Northwestern campus.
