JEFFERSON CITY – Jeff Davis, Executive Director of State Government Affairs for BNSF Railway, has been appointed as a member of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board of Directors.
“Without the commitment and dedication of the hundreds of men and women who have served on our board of directors, the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry would not be the organization it is today,” said Dan Mehan, President/CEO of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “Jeff will make a wonderful addition to the board and we look forward to working with him.”
The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry is Missouri’s largest statewide business association with more than 3,000 members who employ nearly 425,000. The organization is recognized as one of the most influential advocacy groups in the state, representing Missouri employers before the legislature, courts and government agencies. The Missouri Chamber is governed by its board of directors, which consists of more than 50 employers of all sizes and industries from around the state.
Prior to BNSF, Jeff spent 15 years in Missouri government, serving as a Missouri Public Service Commission for eight years, including four years as Chairman, as General Counsel and Chief of Staff to the President Pro Tem of the Missouri Senate and as a law clerk at the Missouri Court of Appeals.
As a PSC Commissioner, Davis served as Chair of the Missouri Energy Task Force, President of the Mid-America Regulatory Conference, President of the Regional State Committee for the Southwest Power Pool, Chairman of the FRI Advisory Board at the University of Missouri, a member of the FERC Joint Oversight Board for Economic Dispatch for the MISO-PJM region, the Missouri Homeland Security Advisory Council, the Missouri Oil and Gas Council, as a member of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners where he served on the electricity, gas and international relations committees. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Organization of MISO States (OMS).
Davis grew up on a farm in Southeast Missouri. He is a 1994 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and received a J.D. from Washington University in 1997. He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Midwest Energy Bar Association, serves on the national board of directors for the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and currently serves as the President of the Southeast Missouri State University Alumni Association. He is also past president of the congregation at Faith Lutheran Church in Jefferson City, MO.
