Georgia Beta (Emory) Wins Phoenix Award For Most Improved Phi Delt Chapter |
|
The Valley of the Sun Alumni Club created the Phoenix Award in 2002 to recognize a chapter that has shown dramatic improvement over the course of the previous academic year. The winner is selected based on their improvement in 14 critical areas of chapter operations as well as additional information provided by the Province President, General Headquarters staff, and university officials.
Honorable Mention: Indiana Theta (Purdue)
The brothers of Indiana Theta at Purdue University made significant strides in chapter improvement this year. By employing a point system, reviewing their bylaws, and implementing a scholarship program, Indiana Theta moved away from concentrating only on recruitment to focusing on other holistic chapter items such as organization and accountability.
Winner: Georgia Beta (Emory University)
The Georgia Beta Chapter at Emory University saw an improvement in virtually every area of operations this year. By utilizing the chapter operations assessment, Georgia Beta was able to identify 14 distinct areas to improve upon and began working immediately to change the status quo not only within their chapter, but within their local Greek Community too. With the implementation of many different programs focusing on scholarship, implementation of the Fraternity brand, and revamping their Phikeia Education program, the chapter was awarded the Outstanding Scholarship Program Award, Outstanding Brotherhood Award and the Most Improved Chapter by the University this past academic term.
