The Director of Recruitment is tasked with overseeing the growth strategies of Phi Delta Theta.  The paramount responsibility of this position is to increase the Fraternity’s average chapter size and to enable chapters to retain their membership.  This is accomplished through an overall emphasis of creating a recruitment culture throughout Phi Delta Theta.  A list of competencies and responsibilities that will be used as overall performance metrics are listed below:

COMPETENCIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Recruitment/Sales - Demonstrated ability to personally execute and manage a strategy that effectively promotes Fraternity growth
    1. Support, develop, and execute an action plan for all chapters that fall below the recruitment minimum standard
    2. Identify chapters not currently meeting their recruitment potential and develop, implement, and execute an action plan to ensure their competiveness on their respective campus
  2. Strategic Agility- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in decision making that considers current processes, potential opportunities, and future conditions
    1. Identify recruitment deficiencies and assess current Fraternity practices at international and local level
    2. Develop and implement a comprehensive referral acquisition strategy that generates potential new members for existing and new chapters from potential feeder pools such as high schools, alumni legacies and contacts
  3. Curriculum Development and Facilitation- Demonstrated ability to create and implement programming that promotes a year-round recruitment culture that helps achieve the Fraternity’s growth goals
    1. Oversee and conduct regional Recruitment Workshops that educate at least 500 students each
    2. Gauge need for, develop, and adopt methodology for educational materials for staff, volunteers, and chapters in the realm of recruitment
  4. Coaching/Mentorship- Demonstrated ability to enable staff and volunteers to successfully support the Fraternity’s growth culture and related initiatives
    1. Guide and direct Leadership Consultants in their support of chapters that fall below minimum standards and those not meeting their recruitment potential
    2. Assess success of  Leadership Consultant performance and involvement in regard to chapter recruitment
    3. Engage constituents in action plans associated with chapter growth
  5. Project Management- Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and measure a plan while working towards the successful completion of a specific goal
    1. Prepare detail-oriented operations plan
    2. Effectively manage program budget
    3. Monitor overall performance against objectives
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  1. A bachelor’s degree is required in marketing,  business, communication, or a related field
  2. At least 2 year’s work experience in a sales and/or marketing role
  3. Must be familiar with Fraternity recruitment models or sales strategies
  4. A firm understanding of project management, market research, event planning, and curriculum development
  5. Prior budget management experience
  6. Excellent organizational, written, oral and interpersonal skills
  7. Strong leadership and staff development skills
  8. Ability to travel on a frequent basis for campus visits, conferences, and board meetings. This travel will include nights and weekends.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Salary will be determined depending upon background and experience. Phi Delta Theta offers an excellent benefits package including retirement planning.

Founded at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio on December 26, 1848, Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity has 169 chapters and 102 alumni clubs across the United States and Canada. To date the Fraternity has initiated over 242,000 men into the society whose founding principles are friendship, sound learning and rectitude.
