convention_ed_programming.jpgPhi Delta Theta is dedicated to providing opportunities for both undergraduate and alumni members to learn and grow in their lifetime membership experience. As such, we are proud to offer three blocks of Education Sessions at the biennial General Convention this year in Washington, D.C. Programs will take place from 3:00pm-6:00pm on Thursday, July 5th before the Opening General Session. Be prepared to learn from fellow Phis and interfraternal partners, as well as to enjoy the society of our Brothers. Make sure to book those flights early to arrive in time!

Session 1    3:00-3:50pm

Phi Delt History – Lessons Beyond the Phikeia Manual - Salon B
Executive Vice President Emeritus and Fraternity Historian, Robert J. Miller will be sharing facts and stories from our rich history. Come and learn about the early days of Phi Delta Theta, as well as the evolution of the General Council and General Headquarters. Participants will leave with a brief review of essential Phi Delt History with a twist, as well as a wealth of tales you won’t find in the Phikeia Manual.

Vision Building Workshop - Salon B

Does your Chapter need some direction? How about a vision? Join Education Commissioner, Matt Brillhart, in an interactive workshop that focuses on the different components, tactics, and best practices for crafting and sharing a vision for your Chapter.

CAB Best Practices Roundtable - Salon C

A time set aside for Chapter Advisory Board Members to share best practices and engage in conversations lead by fellow volunteers. Come and learn from each other, talk about issues, discuss possible solutions, and share success stories to help increase the effectiveness of your Chapter Advisory Board.

The Ins and Outs of Alumni Relations - Salon B

Patrick Alderdice, President and CEO of Pennington & Company, will be offering lessons and best practices in alumni relations. Come and learn from the expert how to communicate with alumni, as well as how to build those relationships. Participants will also walk away with ideas and plans to increase their alumni involvement programs and outreach efforts.

Technology, Communication Tools, and GIN Systems - Salon C

As a chapter leader you have enough on your plate already. Let Chad Corbitt from the GIN System show you how to have technology work for you and not against you. Find out how to organize your Recruitment lists, send text messages to your entire chapter, and upload all chapter files in one organized place. This session will go over GIN System tools and also free technology tools that can help you and your chapter.
