Phi Delta Theta Colonizes at Princeton University (New Jersey Beta) |
By David Heinz, New Jersey Beta Historian
On Saturday May 15th, the Fraternity colonized its New Jersey Beta Colony at Princeton University. In the first official step towards becoming a chapter, Province President Nick Schaefer presided over the colonization of the interest group. A weekend crew competition prevented all brothers from attending the ceremony, but nearly twenty of the twenty-seven Colony members were present. Also in attendance were fifteen alumni and undergraduate brothers from the surrounding area as well as the New Jersey Alpha Chapter at Rutgers State University of New Jersey.
During the ceremony, the Founding Fathers at Princeton were sworn in as colony members and subsequently presented with Phi Delta Theta colony pins. The Colony was also presented with an official colonization plaque commemorating the occasion. After official business was completed, Colony President Andy Lowy gave a short speech expressing the Colony’s excitement about striving to become a chapter of Phi Delta Theta and Province President Schaefer gave concluding remarks echoing these sentiments of excitement.
Congratulatory remarks can be sent to New Jersey Beta Colony President Andy Lowy at
