Robert Morris President and Phi Joins NCAA Division I Board

greg_dellomo_ncaa.jpgRobert Morris President Gregory Dell’Omo has been named to the Division I Board of Directors. Dell’Omo became Robert Morris’ seventh president in 2005 and was initiated into the Pennsylvania Iota Chapter at the University of Pittsburgh in 2006.

Since assuming the presidency, Dell’Omo has overseen improvements in facilities and the addition of five degree programs. He also initiated and an alumni magazine, a new athletics logo and mascot, and increased emphasis on internationalism in student experiences through partnerships with schools in Chile, China, Germany, Nicaragua, Turkey and Israel.

Before his arrival at Robert Morris, Dell’Omo was vice president for external affairs at St. Joseph’s. He spent 14 years there, beginning in the classroom and moving into administration. He began his teaching career at Canisius College and the Cornell University Extension Program. He spent six years working in human resources in the New York City retail industry and four years researching various employment issues.

Dell’Omo holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Montclair State, a master’s degree in industrial relations from Rutgers and a doctorate in industrial relations/human resource management from Wisconsin.
