Early Friday morning, November 13, a potential new member of the Arkansas Alpha Chapter of Phi Delta Theta at the University of Arkansas, was taken to a local hospital. Later, it was determined that his blood alcohol level had reached 0.680.
Since learning of the incident on Tuesday, Phi Delta Theta officials have been working in conjunction with the University of Arkansas and local alumni officers to conduct a thorough investigation. The chapter’s operations have been suspended by the University and Phi Delta Theta Fraternity for the remainder of the investigation. This includes all new member and social activities of the chapter.
“Our primary concern is the health and wellbeing of our members,” said Jacob Kingdon, Director of Chapter Services. “We are thankful that the potential new member who was hospitalized Thursday night has recovered and has since returned to his classes. We are currently investigating the details of the incident to determine who was involved. After our investigation is complete, the chapter and all individuals involved will be held accountable for their actions.”
