Two Indiana Zeta (DePauw) Baseball Players Recognized By North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC)

Junior left-hander Riley Futterknecht (Bristol, IN/Elkhart Central) was named NCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week after picking up a win in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Wabash. Brother Futterknecht struck out 10 and allowed just one unearned run on four hits in the 7.0 inning complete-game effort. In nine appearances this season, Futterknecht has struck out 53 batters and allowed just 11 earned runs in 60.1 innings of work for a 1.64 ERA.

Junior shortstop Reid Pittard (Lafayette, IN/Jefferson) was named NCAC Baseball Player of the Week after leading the Tigers to  a perfect 5-0 week that included a four-game NCAC West sweep of arch-rival Wabash. In the four games against the Little Giants, Pittard hit an astonishing 10-for-13 at the plate with one double, four RBI and five runs scored. Pittard, who had two or more hits in all five games on the week, finished the week with one double, six RBI and seven runs scored.

Nearly 50 Phi Delts at DePauw participate in eight varsity sports and have among their membership four team captains.
