On June 1, Illinois Alpha at Northwestern University was once again commended for its great work at the annual Fraternity and Sorority Life Awards Ceremony.
The chapter won the award for Outstanding Achievement in Cultivating Membership Accountability for the second year in a row. Additionally, Pooya Shams won the Undergraduate Service Award for his work with Habitat for Humanity and creating an organization that pairs Northwestern students with at risk youth in Chicago for tutoring and mentoring. Finally, Garrett Taliaferro, chapter advisor, won the Outstanding Advisor or Alumnus Award and Hana Johnson, housemother, won the Outstanding House Director Award.
The brothers are proud of their achievements and look forward to continued success during the next school year.
