About John

Brother John W. Worsham was initiated into Phi Delta Theta in 1948 at The University of Texas in Austin. After earning degrees in business and law, he served approximately two years as a commissioned officer in the U. S. Army with a tour of duty in Korea. Although licensed as an attorney with The Texas Bar Association, John elected to enter the banking profession through the Management Training Program of Texas National Bank in Houston (aka Chase Bank). As a correspondent banker, he traveled and worked with community banks throughout Texas and New Mexico at Texas National, First City and Capital National Bank, and was elected to serve consecutive terms as Chair of the Correspondent Banking Section of The Texas Bankers Association.

Following his resignation as Senior Vice President/Manager of Capital’s correspondent banking department, John successfully utilized his multiple contacts with Texas bankers through a management recruiting firm, John W. Worsham & Associates, Inc. His work has involved the placement of officers with banks throughout Texas and in New Mexico.

John has served Phi Delta Theta as Advisor to Texas Beta Chapter in Austin, President of Rho South Province, President of The Houston Alumni Club, and as a Trustee (and currently Trustee Emeriti) of The Foundation. John and his wife, Arline, live in Houston. They have a daughter, Anna, who earned two degrees at The University of Arkansas where she was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Anna has remained in Fayetteville where she is associated with the international firm, Saatchi & Saatchi.
