Lothar A. Vasholz retired as Executive Vice President, Corporate Marketing Officer of Union Central Life in 1995. He established a consulting practice, serving as “Rain Maker” for the Associated Consulting Group, looking for Life Insurance Companies that were candidates for a special review of reinsured life insurance.
Mr. Vasholz joined the General Headquarters staff as a traveling consultant soon after graduating from the University of Colorado-Boulder. He served as a Province President soon after completing his time on staff. He was elected to Phi Delta Theta’s governing board, the General Council, for eight years, serving as President from 1974-76. He then contributed his time and talent as a Phi Delta Theta Foundation Trustee from 1976-83. Mr. Vasholz received Phi Delta Theta’s prestigious Legion of Honor Award, recognizing his dedication to the Fraternity, at the General Convention in 2000. He was a long-time member of the Coachella Valley Phi Delta Theta Alumni Club.
He served as a Board member on the World Affairs Council of the Coachella Valley, and is Past Chairman, Advisory Board, for the Dick and Beverly Davis Community Center for the Salvation Army, serving the Coachella Valley, coordinating volunteer activities for the Red Kettle Campaign and was an active member of the La Quinta, California Rotary Club.
Lothar and his wife, Marji, have two married daughters, Julie Dale and Ann Lash, a married Phi Delt son, Eric, University of Southern Indiana ’86, as well as several grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
